Description Position Overview:
Climate, LLC is looking for a Data Strategy Lead to identify synergies and best practices that steer consistency across capabilities, enables proactive data layer development, validation and iteration, and focuses resources on highest value data layers for the advancement of our research and products. This person will need to coordinate efforts between data scientists and data engineers to align organizational goals and recommend best practices to stakeholders across Science, Product and Engineering. This position will have significant exposure to various backend Engineering, Science and Product teams, as well as cross collaboration with our parent company, Bayer. What You Will Do:
Support data mapping and inventorying efforts to identify the most valuable data sources and secure adherence to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, & Reusable) principles, and have Recommend Sources of Truth for datasets and derivatives as needed by business use cases and well-defined requirements. Identify R&D Data Science needs, with an emphasis on data versioning control, location, accessibility, availability and lineage. Become familiar with what Data Science Teams do to ensure the accuracy and validity of data and work to unify efforts cross-functionally. Help the Portfolio Operations Team with Gap Analysis to identify the most appropriate ways to close off stated or discovered gaps, and to establish the scalability and sustainability of a solution. Align Data Strategy efforts with Data Governance and Data Provenance. Build metrics that inform our data science strategy by measuring the value of our data to craft insights and improve the accuracy of our predictions. Mentor and provide feedback to junior and more senior peers on data, feature and model inventories. Develop and deliver tailored communications across multiple levels by providing different stakeholders what they need to know. This role will also be expected to complete ad hoc requests for data strategy guidance and communicate across teams to understand data origination, data pipeline, and downstream use-cases. Qualifications:
Candidates should have experience in data analytics:
5 years of Agricultural focused data analytics experience with a Bachelor's degree in a data related field. Performed data detective work on data from multiple sources/formats. Solid communication skills to solicit information from domain experts and present results to audiences at different levels. Curiosity and an open-mind towards unfamiliar data sources and unfamiliar domains but not afraid to challenge norms. Experience with data visualization. Preferred
Qualifications:
Exposure to the handling of outliers and missing values and their impacts on quantitative models and/or products. Experience with geospatial data formats and data of varying quality. What We Offer:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Data Science & Machine LearningEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
