Quick Apply Full-time Temporary 2 hours ago Full Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Field Operations Program Manager will take a leadership role to develop and oversee SFCC's natural resources and recycling programs.
The Field Operations Program Manager is responsible for maintaining partnerships and projects to meet local needs, executing fee-for-service projects as well as grant management for assigned program grants, including large state grants.
The Field Operations Program Manager will build a team of Coordinator(s) and Supervisors which they will directly and indirectly supervise.
The Field Operations Program Manager is responsible for facilitating communication and the integration of Field Operations Program activities within SFCC's other programs, as well as creating a positive atmosphere to encourage learning and high-quality project completion.
In addition, the Field Operations Program Manager will focus on the planning and management of assigned field program events and is expected to be available to oversee some field program events that occur in the evenings and on weekends.
SFCC's program guides and mentors' participants, known as Corpsmembers, in personal and academic development, professionalism, public interaction, environmental ethics, recycling and waste management issues.
The Field Operations Program Manager will ensure that all staff within the Field Operations Program Department provide Corpsmembers with initial and on-going mentorship and educational support.
This position supports the Executive Director and the Field Operations Director by carrying out special projects as assigned and by keeping them apprised of any pending issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
Build and maintain strong field programs in the City of San Francisco and surrounding communities including contacting project sponsors and partners, attending meetings relevant to SFCC's work in local jurisdictions, accurately estimating projects, negotiating contracts, securing funding, and managing the successful implementation of projects.
Plan and manage some evening and weekend event operations.
Assess community needs and initiate appropriate partnerships.
Design and implement programs that meet the local needs and are in accordance with SFCC's strategic plan and annual goals.
Lead the planning process of new field programs including assessing feasibility, planning potential projects, and implementing appropriate projects.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and performance of assigned SFCC's field programs, activities, and services, ensuring that program and grant goals are being met.
Produce all internal and external reports in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Ensure all deliverables, budgetary and other requirements are met and reported accurately.
Manage personnel in a manner that ensures that all SFCC's policies and procedures are followed.
Responsible for the implementation of SFCC's safety plans, use good judgment in assessing potential safety hazards and assures compliance with all relevant OSHA labor laws.
Ensure that assigned Field Programs meet income targets and stay within budgeted expenses.
Manage all financial and reporting requirements of grants and fee-for-service contracts for assigned field programs.
Oversee equipment and facility needs including acquisition, procedures, maintenance, and security.
Represent program and organization at a variety of meetings, conferences, public forums, and committees.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

A college degree in management, environmental science, business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Four or more years of experience in a management position preferred.
Extensive experience and technical skills in natural resources and waste management work, including contracting and project management preferred.
Experience in program development, grant management, and reporting preferred.
Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively represent SFCC with funders, project sponsors and in the community.
Strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and experience with MS Office software and databases.
Experience developing and managing budgets.
Proven ability to work with people from a wide variety of social, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and mediate disputes.
Clean driving record and ability to obtain a CA Class B driver's license.
First Aid/CPR certification within 3 months of hire.

The Field Operations Program Manager sometimes works outdoors around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground and steep hillsides, with exposure to excessive noise, fumes, and extremes in temperature.

While performing the duties of this position, the Field Operations Program Manager is required to walk and stand; sit and bend; squat and climb; kneel and twist; to talk or hear.

Additionally, there are normal office working conditions and associated physical demands.
For example, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk using a computer and in meetings for long periods of time.
Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk.
