Role Overview:
We're looking for a highly motivated Operations Associate to help with the permitting and design operations of our backyard homes.
You will report directly to our Permitting Manager, and support all aspects of permitting and design review such as permit submission, permit tracking, utility planning and assisting the team with additional administrative duties.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, communicates well, and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
This role is a hybrid role, working both in the field as well as remotely.
What You'll Do:
Permit submissions/issuances - Assist the preconstruction project manager and permitting manager secure local permits for ADU projects across the Bay area by compiling and submitting standardized permitting packages to various local jurisdictions.
Permit tracking - Assist the permit applications throughout the process and ensure local jurisdiction compliance with state law.
Maintain constant communication with city permitting departments on the status of current permit applications.
Develop and nurture local jurisdictional relationships with planning and building departments.
Process improvement and administrative support - Assist the permitting manager to develop automated processes to increase the scalability of our permitting operations and assist the preconstruction team on new initiatives and internal projects.
This would also include one office day a week to review incoming mail, as well as organization of utility tickets.
What You Have:
4-year college degree preferred.
Experience in construction or urban planning, 1
years preferred.
Self-starter who takes initiative and responsibility for their work and actions.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional schedules.
An eye for quality, detail, and a desire to perform at a high level.
Valid CA Driver's License, Vehicle and Insurance (mileage will be reimbursed) - Driving time for jurisdictional related in-person work - estimated 10 hours a week.
