with learning disabilities as they navigate the shift from high school to adult life.
Transitions offer a dynamic and responsive learning environment where instruction flows from a holistic understanding of each student developed through ongoing assessment and intensive collaboration amongst team members.
Students are introduced to the world of work through our internship program and the professional environment created on campus.
Transitions is seeking a Social Worker to fill the role of Focus Teacher with experience in supporting social-emotional growth, practical goal-setting, and academic and employability skill development.
Focus teachers support students by working one-on-one to develop social-emotional well-being, comprehension, communication, and executive functioning skills.
Focus teachers are the primary point of contact for families, and communicating effectively and consistently with families is integral to the position.

Responsibilities:
Implementation of personal goal setting and individualized curriculum Work one-on-one with a caseload of students Identify appropriate assessment tools and evaluate students concerning their social, psychological, and developmental needs Individualized instruction for learning strategy and skill development Comprehensive report writing three times a year Full participation in Parent, Student, and Teacher Conferences three times a year Weekly and daily (when needed) student folder updates Collaborating to support academic, employability, and independent living skill development Experience and Philosophy:
Masters in Social Work (MSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) Passionate, dedicated, and understanding of Winston Prep/Winston Transitions' mission of true individualization Experience teaching executive function strategies Dedication to using data to drive decision-making and instruction Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and commitment to the school philosophy Self-reflective and motivated to grow as a professional Creative thinker and problem solver Energetic and positive attitude Willingness to be a team player and contribute to the continued development of the program Flexible Strong communication and writing skills Proficiency with Google Suite Compensation includes a generous contribution to a retirement plan after two years of employment and subsidized medical after 60 days of full-time employment.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
