Director CDMO Business Development

An emerging bioanalytical technology firm located in the Bay Area seeks a Sales Director position.
We are in search of an experienced professional with expertise in the life science tool industry to join our senior management cadre.
This role involves spearheading sales endeavors across North America and requires the candidate to be based at our Palo Alto headquarters and ready for up to 70% travel.
Primary Develop and implement a sales strategy aimed at promoting capital equipment and consumables to a diverse range of sectors, including pharma, biopharma, biotech, CRO, CDMO, and academic research.
Meet or surpass annual sales targets.
Assist regional sales managers in devising and executing sales plans.
Supervise the field application and customer service teams.
Maintain regular correspondence with the Vice President of Global Sales, providing updates on progress, challenges, issues, and solutions.
Guide and mentor sales team members, steering them toward achieving both company and individual goals.
Establish a pool of promising leads with the objective of finalizing sales to meet revenue objectives.
Formulate accurate sales forecasts.
Foster enduring, robust customer relationships.
Collaborate with clients to gain insight into their business needs and objectives.
Stay informed about category-specific trends, reporting on factors influencing account direction and budget allocation.
Attend industry exhibitions to generate leads and expand the companys client base.
Ensure the success of each client interaction.
Coordinate efforts across various departments, including Marketing.
Minimum of 8 years experience in leadership roles within national sales teams, supported by a proven track record.
Hands-on familiarity with the life sciences analytical tool arena.
Exposure to molecular interaction techniques such as SPR, BLI, ITC, etc.

Knowledge of analytical technologies for antibodies, proteins, small molecules, and CGT.
Demonstrated ability to meet sales projections and maintain a consistent revenue stream.
Strong leadership skills, accompanied by exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service proficiencies.
Strong organizational and creative thinking abilities.
Strategic outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Familiarity with CRM technologies and tools.
Basic understanding of digital marketing.
Preferred degree in a life sciences-related field.
Physical Capable of handling weights up to 30 lbs, involving lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and movement.
Role requires extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Computer work necessitates manual dexterity.
Successful completion of a health screening is mandatory.
Travel is an essential component of this role.
