Technical Program Manager III, Quantitative Model Development

Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
7 years of experience in financial and electricity market data and databases, and experience with quantitative finance concepts, including probability, statistics, and calculus.
5 years of experience in program management.
Experience writing and maintaining code in various programming languages, (e.
g.
, Python, C++, Java, Kotlin, or Go).
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science.
5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Experience in three of the following:
Python, Java, C++, Kotlin, and Go.
Understanding of applied and financial mathematics concepts and techniques (including statistical techniques) with direct experience performing quantitative analysis.
Ability to independently coordinate with energy experts and non-experts, leading projects requiring inputs from multiple teamsAbout the job As a Technical Program Manager for Quantitative Model Development on the Energy Portfolio Management team, you will lead individual strategic initiatives and projects and work with teams across the company in support of Google's global data center energy portfolio, including our efforts to reach 24/7 carbon-free energy and other clean energy objectivesIn particular, you will focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining quantitative modelsYou will play a crucial role in translating complex mathematical and statistical concepts into efficient and scalable software solutions.
In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the energy portfolio's objectives, which are driven by data derived from financial modelingAdditionally, you will be responsible for conducting research and implementing new quantitative techniques and algorithms, and documenting and testing code to ensure accuracy and reliability.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$208,000

Collaborate with quantitative analysts to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications.
Optimize models for performance and scalabilityDevelop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for managing large volumes of energy market data.
Conduct research and implement new quantitative techniques and algorithms.
Document and test code to ensure accuracy and reliability, and troubleshoot/debug model issues.
