McMillan Security Systems is a well-established and successful San Francisco contractor that is seeking an Accounting Assistant able to work a partially remote 24 hours per week, (with a minimum of 1 day per week in their San Francisco office).
McMillan Security Systems is offering a competitive salary range for this position:
$26 - $30/hour depending on the level of experience and qualifications you bring.
The Accounting Assistant contributes to the success of the company's accounting and finance system by efficiently and accurately performing recurring day-to-day A/R, A/P, Payroll transactions and keeping its files well-organized and current.
This is a position that will work closely with the Controller of the organization.
The Accounting Assistant must be self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks, and be curious and confident enough to ask questions and offer suggestions to better serve the company sales, field, estimating, and management personnel.
The primary responsibilities include:
Payroll (P/R) - enters time cards and processes weekly payroll Accounts Receivable (A/R) - processes waivers and other preliminary A/R tasks; assists with monthly customer invoicing and new job set up; scans checks/updates cash log/Vista cash applications Accounts Payable (A/P) - enters vendor invoices and credit card transactions; helps research and reconcile purchase orders; assists with new vendor set up; reconcile vendor statements Electronic filing - downloads transactions and documents; scans paper documents; keeps electronic files current and well-organized Assists in the monthly close cycle, prepares various financial reports, and assists with ad-hoc projects/requests as directed by the Controller Experience/Education Requirements:
Minimum 1-3 years of general accounting experience -or- a bachelor's degree in Accounting Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Construction accounting experience preferred Experience with using Vista by Viewpoint a plus 10-key & type-by-touch mastery We take your safety and health seriously and can provide a virtual COVID safe interviewing process upon request.
