Our goal is to provide teams at Figma access to all the analytical data they require to build the features and gain the data insights they need to succeed.
In practice, our responsibilities span a vast surface area ranging from streaming and batch ingestion, data job orchestration, data warehousing, and creating simple interfaces for users to load and transform data into insights and product features.
Our key stakeholders include the Data Science org, the Engineering org (both Infra and Product teams), and the ML org, amongst many others.
We are looking for experienced engineers who d be excited at the opportunity to shape the strategic vision for this emerging area as we build the foundations for data products and insights at Figma.
Given the scope of our responsibilities, we are seeking individuals who are excited about working cross-collaboratively with our many stakeholders as well as defining the vision for what will likely be several teams in the coming years.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Design, build and operate scalable data infrastructure.
Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
Work with engineers across the company to build innovative new features that operate at scale.
Help debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
Engage stakeholders to understand their emerging needs and use it to inform our roadmap.

years of experience building and scaling distributed systems as a team leadProven track record of identifying opportunities for and successfully shipping high-quality products in high growth environmentsExcellent technical communication skills and experience working with Data Scientists, Engineers, and ML Engineers to drive solutionsMentorship experiences with both junior and senior engineersExperience in two or more of the following areas:
Data warehousing/lakehousing (eg.
Snowflake, BigQuery, Iceberg)Data job orchestration (eg.
Dagster, Airflow)Batch and stream processing systems (eg.
Kafka, Spark, Flink)Data cataloging, discoverability, and life-cycle managementWhile it s not required, it s an added plus if you also have:
Are excited about keeping up with the evolving data landscape, emerging patterns and anti-patternsHave excellent problem solving skills.
You use a systematic and thorough approach.
You think from first principles and have a bias for action.
Are driven by impact.
You are willing to work on grungy problems if they have a high impact on the business or the health of the infrastructure.
Care deeply about the quality of the software / systems you build.
You have an artisan mentality and are always looking to improve your craft.

Pay Transparency DisclosureIf based in Figma s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.
Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified.
For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range.

Annual Base Salary Range (SF/NY Hub):

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
