Client Services Manager

Job SummaryThis Client Services Manager is responsible for supervising the client services of a large academic department within a school OR college OR non-academic department (program).
Uses marketing concepts in performing responsibilities such as planning, developing and implementing basic marketing plans, drafting promotional or marketing materials, working on marketing events, conducting basic market research, etc.
The Client Services Manager is the outward face of our practice with the overarching goals and responsibilities to represent our practice to existing clients, support our current clients, spread our reputation, and to expand our client base thereby contributing to the growth and sustainability of our practice.

The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point.
An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department DescriptionThe Department of Pathology at UCSF aims to achieve the highest standards in patient care, research and education.
The Department provides diagnostic pathology services in a wide variety of subspecialties with highly trained subspecialists who are recognized nationally and internationally for their expertise.
The Department s research programs are diverse and interface with a wealth of basic and translational research programs that are a hallmark of UCSF.
Our educational programs include a research-intensive academic residency program and fellowships in cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal and liver pathology, gynecologic pathology, neuropathology and surgical pathology.
Required QualificationsBachelor s degree in related area and five
years of related and lead experience; and / or equivalent experience / training.
Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines.
Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices.
Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgement calls.
Innovative, creative thinking skills to ensure our practice is providing a cutting-edge client experience.
Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills to effectively motivate others.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred QualificationsMaster s degree of Business Administration and / or equivalent experience / training.
Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.
