Job Summary JOB OVERVIEW
The Administrative Officer involves managing or performing the administrative services or managing the full general operations of non-academic research unit. Administrative services includes activities in finance and human resources and may also include IT, facilities, or student services.
The Administrative Officer will also provide executive-level administrative analytical support to world renowned nephrologist with a research portfolio of $20
million and includes activities in finance, clinical research and academic operations. The responsibilities include communication for the faculties many leadership roles at UCSF and the Program Director's role, including oral communication and written correspondence with Division and Department faculty, other university faculty and officials, the Dean and UCSF Medical Center administration, national journal editorial boards, publishers, professional associations, research institutes, private corporations, the Liver Transplantation Foundation, private foundations, governmental agencies, other high level contacts at other universities, and patients.
The Administrative Officer will also work with the finance analyst and the Administrative Director in managing the facilities portfolio of about 20 funds; assist in generating financial reports and process invoice. The individual will need to thoroughly understand the policies of the institutions (UCSF, UC Medical Center, and other foundations, organizations, and institutions) to resolve issues and implement Division policies for activities. The individual will provide general executive administrative and analytical assistance to other Division faculty members as required.

Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Transplant Surgery, and Vascular & Endovascular Surgery. Our surgeons provide care at locations throughout greater San Francisco including:
UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus (Moffitt-Long Hospital), UCSF Medical Center at Mt. Zion, UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay (UCSF Bakar Cancer Hospital and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco), San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, San Francisco VA Medical Center, and Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland. Our residents rotate through UCSF Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, and California Pacific Medical Center.
The Division of Transplant consists of the Liver, Kidney, Pancreas Services and is headed by one Chief. The Division's mission is to coordinate top quality care for patients in End Stage Organ Disease and/or Transplantation. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
