Administrative Officer

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in grade:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-09 grade level for consideration for the GS-11 grade level). GS-11:
One year of specialized experience,equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems which demonstrates 6 of the 11 following competencies/knowledge to successfully perform as an Administrative Officer. Specialized experience is defined as considerable experience with:
1) Developing, recommending, and implementing policies relating to the full range of administrative management; 2) Directing and administering a budget and fiscal activities; 3) Reviewing and analyzing information and documents to identify potential issues in funding; 4) Interpreting and applying regulations, policies, and procedures to a wide variety of administrative matters; 5) Developing operating procedures, policies, and instructions to facilitate and improve effectiveness of the administrative activities; 6) Thorough knowledge and understanding of an organization's mission, structure, and functions including organizational administrative functions; 7) Knowledge and skill in applying management principles, organizational theory, and techniques to provide analysis and evaluation; 8) Knowledge of analytical techniques for reviewing and measuring effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative programs; 9) Ability to multi-task from multiple supervisors/clients while staying highly organized and timely; 10) Ability to coordinate necessary arrangements for different functions including logistical items, i.e. space, materials, and notifications; 11) Knowledge of office automation, resources, and technology to help manage administrative functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
