Pest Controller

The major duties include but are not limited to:
Works with a wide variety of insects, vertebrate, and plant pests including those pests that are difficult to locate; Utilizes acceptable and safe integrated Pest Management principles so that the public risk is decreased; Utilizes a suitable and approved pest inspection plan of all buildings, structures and plants; Monitors contractor quality and progress; Utilizes a broad knowledge of pesticide toxicity, chemical solutions, and baits, as well as knowledge of the physical characteristics, lifecycles, and feeding habits of a wide variety of pests; Reads and understands pesticide/insecticide labels to include:
the common name of pesticides applied, pest's to be controlled, timing and methods of application, safety precautions, and skilled in any specific disposal methods; Utilizes spraying and dusting equipment which requires:
1) using appropriate formulas and guidelines to ensure proper balance of pesticides. 2) the selection of equipment and setting of controls to allow for wind, terrain and pest population conditions; and Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

You must have a current State of California Pesticide Applicator Certificate, specifically for all of the following three (3) categories:
1) Category (3) - Ornamental and Turf Pest Control. 2) Category (7) - Industrial, Institutional Structural, Health Related Pest Control. 3) Category (8) - Public Health Pest Control. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS:
The work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing of carts, bending, crawling and stooping. The person in this position must be able to lift and handle materials weighing over 50 pounds (23 KG) and carry chemical solutions and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (18 KG) for extended periods. Occasionally climbs ladders to spray in ceiling or rafters and to prune or trim vegetation. Work is primarily done inside with outside work scheduled as needed. Inside work is in a temperature-controlled environment. In working outside, incumbent is subject to discomfort from long periods in the hot sun, and sometimes chilly or rainy weather. Being exposed to dirt, dust, mud and sometimes to chemical sprays and dusts. Personal protective equipment (such as gloves, safety shoes and boots) is provided by the agency. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
